WHAT DOES YOGA MEAN?
Yoga is a way of life; it is not only Asanas & Kriyas, as opposed to popular belief. Practical applications of yoga in daily life includes the simple philosophies behind the techniques of yoga that contributes better living.
The techniques of yoga aim at removing the cause of the physical illness if any, after that improving the mental attributes on having a calm mind (concentrated and steady) thereby realizing one’s own spiritual self and one’s purpose in life.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO START YOGA?
It is always good to inculcate the philosophy of yoga and yoga asanas early in life, when the mind is still developing. One can start doing simple yoga asanas at the age of 5, pranayamas not before 12.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DOING YOGA?
Yoga is a way of life. By practicing yoga in-depth, you will benefit not only in its physical aspects, but mentally and spiritually as well; it will bring you peace and clarity. Yoga asanas will help you improve flexibility, enhance your breathing capacity and improve your posture among several other benefits.
I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION. CAN I STILL DO YOGA?
You will adviced techniques, depending on your medical condition. In all our Health camps, participants are taught simple techniques, variations of asanas which are safe for them to practice. We believe that Yoga is for everyone: men and women, young and old, sick and healthy, people of all communities, in all parts of the world.

DO I NEED CERTAIN AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE?
No. This training is open to all levels, even if you’ve never taken a yoga class before. Having people at all stages creates an optimum learning atmosphere and is also a realistic representation of the range you will have in your classes.
WHAT IF I MISS PART OF TRAINING?
If you wish to receive a certificate for completing our Training program with Indian Institute of Yoga, then you will need to be present for the full course. It requires a certain amount of hours for students to complete in various educational categories in order to be certified.
SHOULD I HAVE TO BE A VEGETARIAN TO PRACTICE YOGA?
Not necessarily but we recommend a Satvik vegetarian diet.
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE THERE IN EACH COURSE? WILL THERE BE PERSONAL ATTENTION AND PERSONAL INTERACTION WITH THE TEACHERS?
The class strength varies from time to time but there may be anything between 20 to 60 students in a class.
There is always personal attention given no matter how big the class is. Our teachers do meet students individually in case they have any doubts or problems.
CAN I ENROLL ONLINE?
Yes you can.
DOES THE INSTITUTE HAVE INTERNET ACCESS?
Yes. The Institute has a computer in the common room.
CAN I GET WATER TO DRINK IN THE INSTITUTION?
There is filtered water at the school that is safe to drink. Besides that you should drink bottled water. It is easy and inexpensive to buy bottled water from any of several vendors near the school.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If you cancel more than a month (30 days) before your training start date your tuition, minus your deposit and processing fees, will be refunded. If you cancel more than a month prior to the training start date, your deposit can be applied to a future training dependent on availability. Tuition will not be refunded or transferred if cancelling within a month of your training start date.
